Today and tomorrow are yet to be said.
The chances, the changes are all yours to make.
The mold of your life is in your hands to break.- J.R.R. Tolkien
This story begins with a giant leap into the internet
depths of the blog sphere, with no road map and a vague destination at an
unknowable distance; I’ll start with hello, welcome to my blog, and I look
forward to getting to know people and to learn.
As a writer fed up with easily accessible excuses for why
I haven’t written as often or as much as I misguidedly tell myself I will, I
feed myself with notions that all of the ideas that seem to be constantly
churning in my brain pan somehow equate to magically waking to find finished
pieces of work…procrastination is a tool I’ve wielded with varying degrees of
accuracy over the years to the point that I had a “science” to my
procrastination…the trick, however, was to have a deadline, something to force
all the energy into concentrated work; it’s how all of my college papers have
come into existence. However, college is swiftly coming to a close with the
milestone that is graduation, but that’s another story. And so my deadline, my
challenge, will be weekly (or biweekly, haven't entirely decided, but at least 2 times a month!)…*cue missing next week*…but really..
This is the start of channeling ideas and producing
something from them, a call to action and creation.
I don’t feel I have one niche, there’s too much to life,
to learn, to experience; too much of interest to narrow eclectic sights. For
the same reason answering questions about my favorites are difficult, it seems
an impossible task to select one, or even a few, from the many possible things to write about so I won’t even pretend
to try.
In sharing my own thoughts, experiences, and some
creative writing through this medium, I look forward to learning from the
perspective of others as well, both through the blogs of others and those that
are kind enough to share their comments. Everyone has something to contribute
and a different way of looking at things.
And so, our journey begins, once I press….
